I originally used a cheap out of square flare nut adapter to attempt to remove this and rounded the edges of this one out. When it began sliding/slipping i stopped immediately!
Its over 60 ft lbs.
My question is it too far beyond getting a 6 point 17mm combo and releasing the force? Its a motor mounting bracket bolt. Thanks

Thanks! I think it will come out! Originally i bought a 17mm socket at the pawn shop but the space was too tight.
I hate 12 point sockets on higher torqued bolts. My biggest nightmare is a higher torqued stripped bolt!
Any body ever try a flex socket?Personally, I don’t like flex sockets, especially when dealing with high torque situations.
The best tool I can think of for your issue is a 6 point box end wrench. If the bolt is too much for your arm strength, you can improvise by placing a jack under the wrench (with the wrench a parallel to the floor as you can get it) and carefully jacking up a bit.
12 points are more likely to strip the bolts with high torque. 6 point is better. I’m with you, even many flare nut wrenchs can expand a little and strip. Try putting a paper towel in between the nut and socket and see if it gives you more bite.
If all else fails, do you have a hammer and chisel, or air chisel?
