I have been driving a lot lately and have a few questions.
1. does my corolla need a new timing chain at 150k it has 147,200 now and at the end of each day it has 50 more or less.
2. my exhaust is rusting and im starting to see it flake off over the back axle should I replace it?
3. I hear there is this new enzyme fuel treatment that I can use to get 51 mpg after replacing my plugs? and cylinder head which Toyota recommends also the valves and 800 cc injectors due to my ecu being a stage 2.
4. is running plus or spreme fuel a good idea because lately my car has rich black out the back and sounds real nice when I unbolt the exuast from the muffler.
last I was wondering how do I get a girl to notice my car?[/quote]
I am making an assumption here your Corolla is 20 years old or less….
1. The timing chain is similar to the in-tank fuel filter (or door handle for that matter)… It is not “lifetime” and can go bad. However most do last the lifetime of the vehicle; but if you are having issues because of it, then it should be replaced.
2. If it is flaking off and getting thin, then yes, your exhaust pipe should be replaced.
3. Never heard of such an enzyme…
4. Run the fuel that your vehicle requires… In the US, 87 octane is all that is needed for a Corolla, running higher octane fuel is just a waste of money…. Black smoke is a rich condition, check your fuel trims… May be a leaking injector, bad O2 sensors, etc…
5. Getting a girl to notice a Corolla… Well, a Corolla may work for a girl who likes guys who are cheap and don’t spend money (have yet to meet one of those….) Corollas scream “I am thrifty, practical and I don’t care who notices…”. I have never met a girl who liked a loud car (exhaust), or obnoxiously overdone ricer…. She may notice it, but don’t think she would like being seen in it…LOL… However, the brand new Corollas are a bit more stylish….. JMHO though….
