2001 Lincoln LS 3.9L V8. Kicking multiple codes, so I earased them then got one P1289 Cylinder head temp sensor high input. now I know for a fact the engine isn’t overheating so I ripped the intake off (quite the job btw) and replaced the sensor underneath the intake. put it back together started er up ran good then the multiple codes kicked back on after 2nd start up. is this a bad ecu, bad wiring or what? im stumped and my dealership has a lot of people who want to buy this car but they cant pass emissions with a check engine light. any ideas?

. Check to see if the engine has any noticeable misfires. have seen several cases where the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) falsely sets these codes from a defective Coil on Plug (COP) shorting out. Use of mode 6 data may assist in finding which coil is causing the failure. If so, go after the problem by SYMPTOM, not by trouble codes.
Also yes the sensor wiring should be checked to make sure it has everything it needs to work correctly.

Does this vehicle have a misfire. That bad coil can send voltage spikes back through the system and screw with the electronics. good luck
