I originally had Grey Pneumatic 9703WE. My one co-worker borrowed it and snapped the 4″. I then told him it was off limits because they do not make it any more. 6 months later he borrows it without asking and breaks it.

They are literally the best wobble extensions I have ever seen. I need good quality that will not twist the heads off. Also to head you off at the pass Snap-On ones my coworker has been through over 8 of. The one that snapped mine has been through 2 of mine  and Matco ones 4-6 times. I currently use my 6″ from that same GP set to break the same bolt loose.

I need one that will work and work consistently any suggestions of a brand (Not already listed) would be appreciated. I do not care if it has to get mailed from overseas either.

Have you given Pittsburg a try ? Sounds like they might be made in Pennsylvania.

Pittsburgh the city is in Pennsylvania. However HF does not make 1/4″ wobbles at least as shown on their website.

If I’m not mistaken here, you haven’t broken any of them. Just your co-worker is breaking all types of them by the dozen. Are you saying you want to get a stronger tool for him to borrow? It sounds like some major tool abuse is going on here.

No, I have not broken a single one.

I rarely break my tools but, regardless what I had was extremely strong and I want to replace it with something as an equal. I unfortunately have to let him borrow my tools because I do not have everything I need and can not afford to get everything. So if I have to borrow something from him hes the type to only let me do so if he can borrow from me. My mentor is at one of our sister shops pretty permanently now so I can not borrow his tools.

I am in the double digits for my tools that other techs have broken. Normally I could care less because the stuff I buy is almost always lifetime warranty or I make the other tech replace it. In this case it is discontinued it can not be found anywhere. I had 1canceled order from amazon and I have called over 6 different stores/warehouses. I broke down and bought a SO one which he will be paying against my SO bill for. I still want tofind a proper replacement though.

Pittsburgh 1/4″ wobbles suck!! I broke three of them removing the top starter bolt from a Crown Vic. Two of them rounded off. The third had the head completely snap off of it. After I finished removing the starter, I threw all my HF wobbles in the trash. I purchased Kobalt. They feel 100 times better. Haven’t put them to the test yet, but I’m sure they will stand up to it for my needs.
