4.8L V-8 274000 miles.
this is my work truck, so it gets alot of mileage(about 70-200 miles a day).
When i first start off in the morning, shifts fine. once it warms up, it slams into second, sometimes so hard it chirps the tires, thirds not so bad, OD is about normal. if its going long distances (30+ miles in one trip) it will slip out of OD until i pull over, put it in park, turn it off, let it sit for a minute, and turn it back on. then it will stay in OD until it decides its had enough, slips out again. i babied it through the rough part of winter, but now that its starting to warm up, the trans is now overheating.(did this the first time today, about 63 degrees today). cant tell you the codes off hand, but i had the guys at the auto center run them off for me. descriptions are:slipping trans mechanism
sensor failure
trans failed to shift properly, slipping.as soon as i have my hands on an OBD II ill have codes to follow.
