So I have an ’08 Caliber SRT4 that’s having an intermittent error which is setting the throttle body light. Throttle body failure is a pretty common issue on the 2.4 Calibers and almost a pandemic form What I’ve read on the SRT4s.
I bought the car from my former work, auto repair plus used car sales, it had been sitting on our lot for a while and when I started driving it I was definitely blowing alot of carbon out the tailpipe the first few days. Because of the randomness and apparent relation to how humid the day is I’m thinking that a good throttle body cleaning might slow down or all together stop the issue. It’s throwing codes for TPS 1 performance TPS 2 performance TPS 1 +2 corelation and 1 more but I don’t have the paper on me.
My big worry is with the idle, more specifically losing the throttle body’s learn as I no longer have access to a Pro level scantool. Is there some way to do a manual relearn on these models? I would assume that any manual relearn for a Chrysler of the same year would work, or would I even be likely to lose the learn?
