I have a 2007 Honda Accord 4cyl. A couple of months ago, the keyfob just stopped unlocking/locking the doors. No matter how many times we press the lock/unlock buttons on the keyfob, the lights blink but the locks don’t budge. The keyfob will pop the trunk. We can still use the key itself to lock and unlock the doors manually from the driver door. What could be wrong? I’m sure its not the keyfob or the battery because our spare keyfob does the exact same thing.

Try reprogramming the fob.

I tried that but it doesn’t open the door. What I noticed is this. The if the driver door is locked, the keyless entry remote will not open any door. If the driver door is unlocked, the remote will lock and unlock all the doors as normal. So there must be some mechanism in the driver door that is not working.

I would check the drivers actuator/mechanism for binding.
The keyfob doesn’t lock/unlock the driver door if I press the lock/unlock buttons. That doesn’t budge at all. But if I put the key into the lock and turn, of course that opens it.
I’m assuming the actuator is inside the door? Are there any videos or tutorials showing how to get to it?Do the lock/unlock buttons on the doors work?
Also, when you use the key, how easily and solidly does the key lock/unlock? Try both doors and compare. If one feels sloppy, there may be a sensor or something not being activated.
Removing the door panel to inspect what is going on inside is not too hard but try not to break anything. If your door is anything like mine, getting the panel off where the door handle is can be rather tricky.
On a lot of car doors, you may have to lift it off since the whole panel pretty much “hangs” to the part of the door at the window bottom.It does sound like the drivers door lock actuator is bad. I’d recommend replacing it and rechecking for the problem.
This is a common issue with Honda’s BTW.

Yes I would say that is very true those door lock actuators on Honda’s seen to fail often my passengers actuator went out and now the drivers side.
