      I have the opportunity to get a ’07 ford freestyle essentially for free. After doing some research on this vehicle found that the transmission is a bomb. I had a ’96 Taurus with another one of Ford’s exploding transmissions and do NOT want to reliveat that nightmare. Does anyone have knowledge of this issue and can offer some advise? Otherwise I thinking of just keeping my existing reliable POS.

        Pass it up. There is a reason you can get such a good deal. Just my opinion.

          I buy cars everyday and everytime I come accross a Ford Freestyle I send it straight to the crusher. I know a lot of people who work on cars and I’ve never seen anybody working on that one.
