So for awhile now our cobalt after pumping gas is hard to start. It pumps gas into the car fine without shutting the pump off, but once the gas no matter if it’s a couple bucks or you fill the tank all the way up, the car is hard to start up like it will take a few hard cranks to get it to start up and when it starts up it will take a good 10-20 seconds to level out and idle normally. Now I forget what it exactly said and the code when I ran it but it showed the o2 sensors and an evap system code and I’ve read it can ruin the evap system when you fill that car up to max every time which we always do. Anyways I’ve read to check the Evap system solenoids the vent valve solenoid and purge valve solenoid, I’ve changed the evap purge solenoid and it didn’t change it. I’m wondering it ruins the whole canister or just a solenoid cause I guess I’m going to try the vent solenoid now and if that doesn’t work then since the o2 sensors are going to run me 120 and the canister is 200 I wanna know which one to replace first? Or if this could be something totally different, I’ve tried to find someone that has had this happen and all I find is someone that has problems with the pump shutting off every so many cents or dollars the pump, like I said ours pumps to the end perfect it’s just the car itself doesn’t wanna start! I greatly appreciate help/advice or preferably someone that’s seen this if possible haha
