      Backstory:
I have an ’06 Chrysler PT Cruiser Turbo with 112k miles on the clock.
The transmission was replaced with a remanufactured unit about 600 miles ago.

      Current situation:
Today I drove the car for about an hour, then started it a few hours later and the MIL illuminated.
I drove the car home about 25 miles with only one gear. I didn’t go above 35 MPH since that would have put the RPMs above 3,000.
Scanned codes when I got home.

      Codes:
      – P0562: System Under Voltage
      – P0700: Transaxle Control System Malfunction
      – P0882: TCM Power Input Signal Low
      – P1603: PCM Internal Dual-Port Communication Failure
      – P0171: System too Lean (Bank 1)

      Theory:
My alternator is putting out 13.7V and the battery has no trouble starting the engine, but it really looks like an electrical problem to me.

      Suggestions?

      Thanks in advance.

My first thought would be to correct the – P1603: PCM Internal Dual-Port Communication Failure.
No telling how bad this affecting the operation of the vehicle.

And how would you do that?

            Generally:
Possible causes for loss of communication codes with Transmission Control Module (TCM) internal faults, this usually means one of the following:
            The TCM is failing
The TCM is not being supplied with enough power
The wiring to the TCM is faulty

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) fused ignition switch circuit
Faulty PCM PCM harness is open or shorted
            PCM circuit poor electrical connection.

As to how to diagnose each possible cause.
Quite a bit of information is available on youtube and the internet.

There is also this concerning the issue.
Problems/Chrysler/PT Cruiser/Software Updates For Powertrain Control Module to Address Erroneous CEL
            Problem Description:
“False” trouble codes may cause erroneous illumination of the Check Engine Light. Updating the PCM software can often correct this concern.
