hello, i have a 06 nissan sentra with the 2.5 engine. lately it has been having an intermittent miss fire, engine will be running fine then out of nowhere it starts making a loud popping noise in the exhaust, car will not accelerate. i turn the car off and then back on and it runs fine, and there is no check engine light or codes stored in the computer.

well cleaned the maf sensor, installed a new camshaft sensor, the car ran good for about 5 minutes then when i turned the a/c on it started to sputter, i cycled the key a couple of times and the car ran fine.

If you haven’t done so yet, and if you continue to have this problem, check your combustion chambers for oil.

You stated you changed the plugs, but never mentioned if you looked for a gasket leak.

the combustion chamber are dry, they all look the same and show no sign of excess oil of coolant

2 things come to mind. The first was the MAF sensor that was mentioned. In addition to checking the sensor operation, you also need to look for air leaks in the tube that runs from the sensor to the throttle body. Any leaks here can cause issues.

Second, check the fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is dropping when you’re having the issue, then you may have a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator issue.

                Nailed it Eric.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

At this point, personally, I’d begin to check the fuel delivery system.

Gaskets check out, MAF is cleaned, testing so far suggests an electrical problem may be present versus a mechanical one..which barneyB has said already.

If you can get access to a scanner that will allow you to check fuel trim and voltages.
Will certainly have to run a fuel pressure test.
