Hi there!
My 06 Cadillac CTS had an issue the other day where the breaks failed as I turned sharply into a parking space. The break peddle felt like it lost pressure as I turned into the space and the car just kept moving. Luckily the car stopped before I hit the curb but it did feel strange, kind of a jack hammer feel on the break as a I pressed.
Any ideas? From what I have read it may be the lines getting crimped but that doesn’t seem to cause the same symptoms I had.

You’ve probably got a cracked tone ring at one of your wheels. I think that jack hammer sensation you were feeling was the ABS activating incorrectly. When those tone wheels crack, they send out a bad signal to the ABS controller where the controller thinks a wheel has locked up. The giveaway is almost always when you’re trying to park your car that this happens. You practically never find codes for this problem either. Find yourself a shop that’s got a scan tool that can read the individual wheel speed sensor live data on a test drive. They’ll be looking for one of those PIDs to have erratic signal drop outs. If you let the shop do the repair, they’re going to sell you a hub and bearing assembly and somewhere between one to three hours labor depending on which tone ring cracked.
