I put a junk yard engine in a 2005 Tundra with a 4.7L V8. After the swap the engine would not crank. No power to the starter. When trying to crank the A/C compressor clutch would ingage. Pulled the wiring schematic from Mitchell and it did not match the harness. Went to the old engine and inspected the harness and found it matched the schematic. All the connecters would plug in but the wire colors where different. I found out the engine was from a different year model truck and although the connectors hooked up the wires routed different inside the harness and powered different. Swaped the harnesses and the truck starts fine.

Way to go Jesse. I seen this many times. Sometimes you try to save money only to find the labor rate go up. The best part you use your head and not give up. :cheer: I did an engine install in a Land Rover to find that the EGR bolt did not line up to the head. The salvage yard instead it was the correct engine. Come to find out the engine was Federal, I needed California heads. Had to locate and swap heads to complete the job.
