      ’05 Montana w/ 3.4L, 170,000 miles.

All 4 of my front headlight fixtures are new (including bulbs) and the headlights are still dangerously dim. What’s going on here? Maybe something electrical..? I’m not much of a mechanic but I can check grounds/connections if somebody can point me in the direction of what to look for. Other ideas?

      Thanks,

I had an issue on my classic 1981 El Camino where the headlights were dim and they would burn out all the time. Is your voltage gauge okay if you have one? Easy way to test this is to turn the lights on and check the voltage at the battery while it’s running with a multimeter. It should be between 13.8 and 14.2 volts. My El Camino was way down on voltage, and my voltage gauge told me so. Replaced the alternator and everything was awesome. Check your voltage and see what happens.

Thanks. I’ll check my voltage and go from there.
