05 Pontiac Montana SV6. 3.5 engine and 140,000 miles.
I changed my transmission fluid and filter and now it shifts hard. Never had any problems before. I’ve checked the fluid levels to make sure that’s right, it is. I actually changed the fluid twice. I tried to add an additive, Lucas Transmission No Slip, to stop the hard shifting, no luck, Put in the Trans Tune in to try to clean it out, no luck. Changed the fluid again, no luck. Keeps shifting hard in every gear, except reverse.
Anything else I can do? It sucks that I did a routine maintenance and now this happened.

What did the bottom of the pan look like? Was fluid burnt? The PCM has set the transmission to have high line pressure. It has detected a problem and is trying to self preserve. You might try disconnecting the battery a leave for some time to try and drain the keep alive memory and set everything back to default settings. This is an adaptive learn trans and measures time between when one clutch pack applies and another one comes off and if it is out of range it will set high line. It fluid was dirty and burnt,by changing fluid you may have washed out what the clutches were gripping on. I also would stay away from any type of fix in a bottle. Strictly just my opinion as after years of seeing the results of these “fixes”. It is a band aid only. let us know what you find.
