The topic i posted 4 months ago about the heater thing. I didnt know what i was talking about. So yeah after putting 10k on the car its at 196,467 now. The problems that came up lately is

      A sweating transfer case
A loud clicking-knocking noise at start up (Cold doesnt happen when driving when warm)
A tune up to the car (Spark plugs timing belt etc)
      And still the heater.

So all this stuff here is known and is gonna be checked this weekend. The heater is probably clogged cause cold air is still getting thru the vents and on rare occasions its warm RARELY (Only when warm out) so i think the system is low on that antifreeze i think?
The transfer case is leaking slowly not like its dripping constantly the threads on it are stripped probably when i got a oil change at mr lube (canadian oil thing) they tried to drain it and striped it.

Sense this is Hyundai’s v6 the spark plugs cost like 7 16 bucks for 1 (ngk plugs). so at least 1000$ is going into this car witch i dont have.

If coolant is not low you may need a new thermostat. When coolant is drained check
the heater core at that time.

I don’t think you read the whole thing. I said that the heater doesn’t work properly. I got the whole front end replaced heat exchanger rad, blah blah balh. While I found out today that its the heater control circuit O2 sensor. Gave me a fault code too.

Also is it normal with a v6 with 196000k on it only make 40hp at 3000rpm with 20100 throttle. Also it idles a little low at 645rpm.

(Just saying I’m not mad or just rude I wain class so I didn’t have time to put thia info in)

Also this car does NOT overheat. The coolant temp stays at 95ish when driving never moves from that number. This Tucson is taken cared of sense I bought it. Its very well maintained probably better than the ones on the road, like common the ones on the road today are probably rusted to hell (Canada Ontario) while mine is 10 years old no rust under it lol. I floor it on the highway climbs to 6000/7000 rpm quick gets to 140/150 easily. Faster than other Tucson’s. And it also got a 12.537 drag time 1/4mile @172KMH (with awd one I dont mod my cars AT ALL)

If you feel the heater core hoses are they hot going in and coming out with the vehicle fully warm?
What o2 sensor code did you get?

It said I tink heater control circuit failure I think, also the car is idling low at 620rpmish

Yes if your heater circuit for the O2 sensor fails it will affect the operation of the O2 sensor and muck up the engine performance including idle. The heater circuit should have voltage on it if the ignition is on. If you do your own work you can measure the O2 sensor heater by unplugging the connector and measure resistance between the pair of heater wires. Usually both white or gray.

The o2 thing is fine I guess I floor it on the highway revs go to 6000 7000 no problems no noises past that point. The car is in the negatives when warm fuel and air ratio is in the negatives ( example -00375) does that mean its running lean or rich??? Cause there’s no noticeable performance lose at all. Just I’m thinking the o2 senser witch is behind the cat on the driver side firewall its stopping the heater to work properly lol.

Plus when I start the car in the morning its cold here too and sometime I mean all the time the rpm goes to 2000 straight away as soon as it fires up. Then it goes down in a few secs.

IF I lived where Eric is I are if he can do this as a classic look fix it playthru lololol plus it be funny watching him working on a Korean well maintaid d car :))))
I live in Ontario BTW I have no idea where he is. Quebec I doubt it….. Idl

If anyone wants to help me anymore I got the code for it
                          P0036-Power train HO2s heater control circuit bank 1 sensor 2 (05 Hyundai Tucson 2.7 v6)
With 200000 on the odometer that’s the only code. No misfires or anything car is well maintained.

Update this code is tripped if it takes too long for the o2 to heat up. Due to my heater being the cause of this. -I think
