When I turn the turn signals on they work fine until I turn the headlamps on. Then the turn signals do not work. I believe that the ignition switch is the problem, I checked power at the turn signal fuse, pcm fuse and air bag fuse, koeo. Had 12.3V, same as the battery, when I turned on the turn signal or the headlamp the voltage droped to 11.6V. koer, 13.6 without load and 12.2 with load at fuses. From what I can tell the ignition switch is where it goes, a voltage drop test accross the switch proves it to have high resistence but I’m not sure that its the cause of the turn signal problem. What do ya’ll think?

Not the same problem. The flashers and turn signals work fine until you turn the headlamps on. This proves the flasher to be fine.

Thanks but I allready have a wiring diagram from mitchell. Everything is pointing to the ignition switch. My question is does anyone else have an idea as to what the problem could be. My first thought was dimmer switch but it tests good as does the multifunction switch. I’m just not 100% convinced that the ignition switch would cause this problem.
In 45 years of being a tech i have never seen an ignition switch cause a problem like you are having, not to say it’s impossible. What i have seen is bad bulbs,bad sockets,melted/corroded wiring,flasher units and signal switches cause problems like yours.
I think you’re getting feedback from a parking or marker light and is preventing the signals from operating. I suggest you inspect each light bulb and socket one at a time. If you don’t find any faults at least you ruled that out.
I’m on board with wysetech. IF any of the brake lights in the rear of the car share a bulb (dual filament) with the running lights (headlights on) check the sockets, bulbs, and associated wiring for defects.
I have seen an ignition switch cause problems like that on a jetta i worked on…headlights would work till i released the parking brake…the headlights would go off and parking brake light was half illuminated…so it could be the ignition switch…i doubt one light socket would cause that problem…you need to see what is common between the two then go from there.
