I have a 05 Accord V6 and I recently did the timing belt service at 100k miles. I also replaced the serpentine belt and belt auto-tensioner. Belt was a Bando and tensioner was a Gates. My question is related to the auto-tensioner indicator pointer. After replacement of the belt and tensioner my indicator mark is roughly located in the area of red line on the attached file. I was expecting it to be at least in the area of pointer and not that far to the left. Belt and tensioner have been doubled checked as the correct parts. Any need for concern ? Belt is quiet and no issues otherwise.

It appears to be in range. I would drive it for a few days and if it has moved closer to the limit and if it has I would try another belt.

In my opinion both part manufactures make good parts but O.E. parts should be used.

Thanks for your input. Car has been driven roughly 1700 miles since work has been done and as indicated on the picture that’s where the pointer is located. I will just keep an eye on the location of the pointer for now.

It could be the belt itself. All belts are not created equal.
I would have gotten the gates belt.

If you don’t have any issues I wouldn’t worry about it.
