Hello, i have a 2004 pontiac montana fwd ext with 93 000 miles (150 000 km) a long time ago the transmission would slip every so often under take off and would happen more often under more throttle and with more weight. i put in lucas tranny slip fix about two years ago now and the slip sowly got worse. a few weeks ago i was running late for a birthday party so i was driving it harder. after the party i was driving normaly again and halfway home the tranny would hard shift every time it shifted up and would also slip at take off. i didnt drive it for a week or two and now it doesnt hard shift and it seems to not slip at take off anymore. any suggestions?

      Thanks,
      Zac

Is the ck engine light on ? Is it low on oil ? Any leaks? If it slips on take off its usually a sign of low oil.I think that transmission is a 4T60E ,Hard shifting most likly is a internal Trans problem ,There is no cable adjustment or modulator.

+1 on the above post. You may have internal transmission issues unfortunately.

Do you know the service history for the transmission?

You could try exchanging the fluid but at higher miles and no service history, it will be a roll of the dice.

I agree, it does sound like internal transmission issues especially if you had some change after using the Lucas. You’re probably looking at a rebuild or replacement. I’d recommend replacing it with a reman unit for the best results.
