      the trunk light has stopped working, replaced build still no light.

        if the bulb is new.then look at the switch.test for
        power using a meter or a test light.

          ok…….something is missing from the latch switch…..there is a small button that turns the light on but I don’t see what would make it work…..

            Opening the trunk and closing the trunk is what opens the switch and closes the switch (with positive and negative at the 2 wires that should be attached to the switch, or just 1 wire which should be positive and the base of the switch attached to metal ground). Probably a bad ground connection.

              If the trunk switch is damaged that may be the cause. Unfortunately they’re sealed units so if it needs to be repaired you’ll likely have to replace it. It’s also a dealer only item I believe but you may be able to find one at a salvage yard. Also mark the fasteners before you remove them. The latch needs to be aligned when you install it or the trunk won’t close correctly.
