      Good afternoon all,

I watched Eric’s video last night on the Honda with the bad speed sensor and my speedometer was doing the same thing. when the van is in park the speedometer reads 0.
when in reverse or drive it bounces around from 10 to 20 mph. so today i bought a new output speed sensor and it seemed to get worse. not the speedometer but now the van is jerking in drive only and not in reverse. any help would be AWESOME as i dont want to just throw parts at it and waste time and money. you guys on the forum have never let me down before and i thank you for that!!!!!! Thank you in advance.

        update:
i disconnected the battery then reconnected it and took it for a ride. the van is shifting fine and the speedometer is working only when your moving. when at a complete stop the speedometer is jumping from 0 to 20 then when you move again its fine. i did put it on a code reader and this is the codes i got…..
p06014 pcm random access memory failure
p0732 a/t additional gear ratio error in 2nd gear
p0731 a/t additional gear ratio error in 1st gear
p0736 a/t additional gear ratio error in reverse gear
p0720 a/t output speed sensor – low output above 15 mph

i am unsure of the last code due to the fact i just replaced the output speed sensor.
any ideas where i should look next?

i just changed the transmission input speed sensor and still in the same boat. speedometer is still doing the same thing. not sure what to do now…. transmission fluid is not low and does not smell burnt and is good in color.

solved….. It was the alternator. here is a link to a video i watched from scanner danner. he explains it really well.
