Common failure of the window regulator glass attachment slider. These are made of plastic molded to the end of a cable. The plastic wears and fails. Two options for repair OEM or a kit that replaces the broken plastic with a steel part. The second option is much better and faster. The kits are available from various sources. I have used the US made and the imports with no difference in quality or fit. The only difference seemed to be price. You can buy the parts for all four windows as imports for less than the cost of one US made unit. Your call on that. Installation is the same regardless. One item to watch is the ball stud that is attached to the glass. It may need to be bent back up to fit through the metal retainer, they tend to bend down as the plastic fails. Make sure the ball end comes completely through the retainer clip and stays retained through the windows travel.
