Cleaned EGR ports on a friend’s 02 TL with 160k, and Ive seen a few vids of J series V6s, and never seen any with this much oil in the Intake Manifold. Was curious if its normal or signs of an issue?
The EGR ports were filled with gunk as expected (no CEL yet though) and the intake channels all the way down were pretty dirty looking as well.

Attached are pics before and after.

Shouldn’t see that much oil in the intake. Check the pcv.

Curious. From your photos, it looks like that area is just a dead air space, and isn’t ported to intake vacuum.

In the first photo, it looks like there’s an electric switch or sending unit in the bottom left area. I’d look at that as a possible leak source.

If the interior of the intake runners are oily, it sorta points to blow by, where compression/combustion pressure gets pumped past the piston rings and into the crankcase, causing oil mist which is then sucked up through the PCV plumbing.
