      I have a 02 silverado 5.3 ltr vortec v8. it does fine in every gear but reverse neutrel and park. in those three gears it whines and wont reverse. ive checked fluid and its fine. what could it be?

        Just had one with the same problem a month ago. Sounds like it’s time for a rebuild.

          I would suggest reverse gear is blown.
          You probably have the 4L60E transmission.
          Big problem trans.

            I concur. Something is wrong internally and it will have to come apart.

              Thank you Thats what i told my son are they hard to put a kit in? I may just have him get another trans and we put it in again thanks Larry
