      Need help! trying to figure out what wires are what on a bank 1 oxygen sensor for a 98 honda civic dx with a d16y7 engine. and how to test it?

        I’m gonna shoot from the hip here. are the colors that
        you have. two blacks,white and green? (kinda starts off sounding
        like a joke)anyway Two blacks-sensor heater circuit. white-sensor wire
        green-ground or earth.

                        Try this to test your O2 sensor

                          If you have a P0420 testing the O2 isn’t the way to go. If you have a scan tool that reads live data look at the O2 readings. The primary O2 should switch back and forth across .5v fairly rapidly, the secondary should stay fairly constant near .5v if things are working as they should. If the secondary O2 fluctuates like the primary O2 then the catalytic converter is not doing it’s job. You can also check the temperature of the cat at the inlet and outlet. If the cat is working properly it will be 100º hotter at the outlet than the inlet.
