      okay so im in the process of changing the head gasket on my dodge.
      ive never changed a head gasket with a sohc.
      completely spaced setting the timing before I loosened the head bolts.
      I feel like an idiot btw but can I still get it to tdc with the head loose yet the belt still on?

        Just retighten the head bolts, using the proper sequence, and turn the engine by hand to get things lined up where they should be.
