Hi all, I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan. Whenever I come to a stop the headlamps flicker constantly.
Normally you can see headlights dim when the rad fan(s) come on but this is a constant flicker.
The RPM’s remain steady and I don’t see the cluster lights doing the same. I don’t see it happening when I am at a cruise speed. Also, this van gives one nasty shock after shutting it down and getting out. Anyone have any ideas of where to start?

sounds like a ground issue but check the alternator output when all loads are on.you could have a bad regulator and the computers flickering the lights to keep some voltage.

I agree with the above post, it does sound like it might be a grounding issue. I would also recommend checking the alternator output to make sure it’s in spec. You should also check the battery while you’re at it. More information can be found in this article.

Flickering lights on Caravans seem to be a common problem. I was involved with one after several others tried to repair it. I tried everything that had not already been addressed. There are two areas that I clued into but in the end it was only bout 80% better. To start with make sure the battery cable connections are spotlessly clean and tight. I mean remove them and clean them well.

First I found the under hood fuse panel had several corroded wires connecting fuses and relays. Second, I replaced the “Front” control module. The fuse panel and the module took care of most of it.
