Cranks but won’t start. Fuses are all good. Starting simple with fuel filter and spark plugs, but don’t know where the filter is located. Any other suggestions if not filter or plugs

The filter should be inside the tank.

thought the fuel pump was inside the tank. lookn for the fuel filter.

I could be wrong, but I thought the fuel filter was usually right after the pump.

EDIT: On your truck it seems to be on the driver side frame rail right under the driver door.

I would view the video’s posted before loading up the parts gun and shooting it at the vehicle…

I did view the videos and the fuel pump is working so I figured work my way towards the front and since the fuel filter hasn’t been changed in a good while that would be a good place to start and if that doesn’t work check the spark plugs, etc.

I guess you can replace the fuel filter since it hasn’t been replaced, but you should diagnose before you throw parts at it. Super easy way to tell whether or not it is fuel related is to spray quick start in the throttle body. If it wants to start, it’s fuel related and you can go from there. The videos that were posted above are your friends, use ’em! haha

Oh, and the fuel filter is not inside the tank. It’s on the frame on the driver’s side. You might need a special tool to disconnect the fuel lines, but it may have those plastic tabs that you can squeeze together. I can’t remember off the top of my head.

Lets table the fuel filter theory for now, I think it would be more practical to check the fuel pressure at the engine, if it’s slightly low then perhaps look to the fuel filter, if not look for another cause. It’s easy to focus on a cause like that and loose sight of the big picture, be objective, if the fuel filter were an issue I doubt it would come up so suddenly, you would probably notice a slow decline in power before you got to this point. Lastly don’t forget about a mechanical cause, so often this gets overlooked so be sure you have good compression and that the engine is in time.
