        Welcome to the forums!

I would recommend checking out this suspension video made by Eric to start with –

        http://www.youtube.com/user/EricTheCarG … cFbb43fwqk

Then report back to use. It will show you to check for suspension issues.

Here is also another example from Eric, this time on a Jeep –

Did the shop(s) you took the truck to testdrive the vehicle and confirm the issue?

Did you check the rear suspension? Rear end play can do this to the car

i suppose if one of the centering bolts on a leaf spring was broken and the truck is ‘dog tracking’, it could cause some issue. But I would think it would more likely pull the vehicle one way, not back and forth.

It’s strange that they drove it and still could not find the problem. I’m wondering if they checked the tire pressure, anytime you have an issue like this the first place to check is always the tires as that is where the ‘rubber meets the road’ so to speak and is often where problems like this can be found. If the tire pressures are OK then perhaps rotate the tires to see if the condition changes. I also like the suggestion of checking the rear suspension as this could also cause that problem. Other than that check out the video link that Dreamer posted as it shows my methods of checking a suspension for problems.

So after 2 days in the shop they found out it was all 4 ball joints and the 4 brakes were bad. they said whats was weird is that the ball joints didnt have any movement in them until he tried to alien the front end. So after 2300 the problems were fixed. Then after i pay him he like just to tell ya who ever owned it before replaced everything with junkyard parts.

You need to ‘load’ the suspension on that type in order to check for looseness meaning you need to put a floor jack or something under the lower control arm and have it support the weight of the vehicle in order to see any ‘looseness’, glad they found it however they must have been pretty bad to cause that issue as it’s not common loose suspension parts will cause a vibration. Keep us posted on any new developments.
