01 escape cold start problem

ok i feel stupid now i just found that my fuel pressure test gauge is messed up . the fuel pressure isn’t holding at all . turn the motor off and the pressure drops quick . now i need to find out why .

You’re probably dealing with a faulty pressure regulator or a bad check valve in the fuel pump. Is your fuel system a return or returnless system?

can’t do anything with it till saturday but it is a return system . funny i’m using a new test gauge and last friday the pressure dropped fast . i started the car today and the pressure took about 15 mins. to drop but it did drop and the pump is still has a loud sound

Just a thought, Have you checked your fuel filler cap, Sometimes the rubber seal will get brittle and crack which can cause a pressure drop.
