Sharing a car diary with you 🙂

Got the car in October 2013. Needed some work with the left upper balljoint and stabilizer links both sides.
The body showed some rusty places – rear right door and front left fender.

Everything else was in good shape, about 91000 miles driven.

      Some pics:

After taking care of the balljoint and stabilaizer links, I found an oil leak in the oil pressure sensor so had to change it too, also did an oil and PCV change.

Used Gulf 5w30 and WIX filter, hope the engine likes it.

Have used the same oil for many changes, every 5k miles.

Jobs I have done for now:

        *spark plugs
        *front left lower control arm
        *right front upper balljoint
        *installed an AUX input
        *changed the rear strut mounts
        Old strut mount
        *Xenon kit
        *Radiator cap

Two weeks ago I replaced the rusty door and the fender. Friend of my did the paint job for the new bender and a donor door.

          old door
          old fender from inside
          new fender in place

          Replaeced the cooling fluid too.

Now I need some brake job, new rotors and pads in front. Can you guys give me some recommendations?

Are you looking for what brand to use or how to do the work?

                  Nice pics!

Is it just me, or does that caliper look a little wet with something around the dust boot? I have and work on an 04 Stratus (same as the 2nd gen sebring).

Also, have you ever changed the water pump on this car? The Chrysler v6 engines in this generation of cars are known to go through water pumps every 40k-60k miles. Since the water pump in your v6 is located within the crankcase, once the water pump starts weeping (and it will eventually) coolant get sent into the oil. Since this mixing isn’t evident by stains on your driveway, you usually don’t realize it until the engine starts knocking/bearings start spinning.

                    Hey,

I put silicone paste between the dust boot and the piston, thats why it looks wet.

The water pump is changed just before I bought the car, about 8000miles ago.

                      Need some advice guys,

At night when its cold outside and I start the car, the front window gets misty and it smells like moisture or something like that. Then few second later the window is clear. And the smell is gone.
