My Hyundai is blowing 20a fuses in the power distribution box next to the battery in the engine comaprtment. I have replaced the fuse 2x and it has blown 2x. I was wounder what the problem is that keep blowing the fuse. I am sure it is short, but where to look first? The amp controls the C O N. I am not sure what the C O N is. The manual I have does not talk about the C O N. My web browsing does not provide to much info either. I am at a loss for the short. Any suggestions?
      Thanks Jim

If you are talking about fuse ‘D’, it’s for the A/C condensor fan, that’s what CON stands for. It provides power to the condensor fan relay (also in the same fuse box), and then on to the condensor fan itself. I’d test continuity on the fan and see if it’s shorted out, maybe apply 12v to it and make sure it runs, and if that’s OK work your way back to the fuse box…maybe a pinched wire?

Does it only blow when you try to run the A/C?

Let us know what you find.

That sounds like a good start Jonzcarz but I might also add that you should be able to find out what that fuse goes to in the service manual. Many manuals are posted online (some even on this forum) where you may be able to find the effected circuit. Look for the number next to the fuse to find the circuit your looking for.
