Hard starts are usually down to a leaking fuel pump check valve, faulty ECT or an issue with the your fuel pressure regulator.
Next time you have a hard start, i would cycle the key several times and see if that helps.

Also, do you actually hear the fuel pump prime when you turn on the ignition?
