I’ll start by saying this is a sponsored blog. Don’t worry, it’s still awesome.

Do you like to make stuff? I know I do. It started when I was a kid when I would take apart my toys. I sometimes got them back together, and sometimes didn’t. Sometimes I would modify them to be cooler than the original. This trend has continued throughout my life.

My latest endeavor is my 1979 Ford Fairmont. Let’s face it, it’s not the most glamorous vehicle ever built, far from it. But for me, that’s the point. What I intend to do is build a ‘sleeper’ out of this forgettable vehicle. That means when I get done, it will pretty much look just like it does now, but underneath that custard color, it will be a completely different story. I plan to make this car perform beyond what it was ever designed to do. When I get done, it will go faster, handle better, and brake so hard your forehead’ll kiss the windshield.

March 2015 was a hard month for me. I actually reached a point where I had to walk away from ETCG work for a week. I believe this condition is commonly called, “Burnout”. Although it is better to ‘burn out than fade away’, I feel I still have a lot to accomplish with EricTheCarGuy before I call it quits. I’m glad I took the week off however. Spending time with my grandson, my oldest son, and of course, my dad as you may have seen in one of the latest ETCG1 videos, was just what I needed. It helped me gain a little perspective, get some much needed rest, and gave me time to think about how to move forward and avoid that situation again in the future. Now, it’s time to get back to work.
