I had to come here and post this for you all. Every video or piece of advice about getting those 2 securing screws off when replacing Honda/Acura rotors either had you using an impact wrench, drilling them out, using a hard metal object with a sharp point and beating it with a hammer, or in this video beating a hammer with a hammer to beat on a screw :silly:, these are all brute force, time consuming methods.

Rejoice! For I will share with you my secret to getting these screws off even from a 10 year old rotor! (my rotor in fact).

What you need is a simple screw driver, a ratchet and set, and 2 screws that fit those empty holes (used to push the rotor from hub).

Screw in those ‘push screws’ (no idea what you’d actually call them) evenly until you hear metal on metal, can make a “ping” sound. Turn them in quarter turns each to keep them even.

Then back those screws out. That is all you have to do.
Now take your fancy screw driver you got at the 1$ store and remove those previously two impossible screws from the rotor.

Clean off all the old grime and surface rust and you are ready to continue the brake job.
No hammer on hammer on hammer action needed

          Good Stuff!

I tried the hammer on hammer, a (i suddenly forgot the name) hammer screwdriver that twists when you hit it, used lubricants, tried to use this screw extracter set and i couldnt quite get it drilled out enough. So i grabbed a nice air hammer attachment that was wedge/chisel shaped put. Iput one corner of it on the edge of the screw head and hammered away for about 10-15 minutes on each one. Some got knocked lose and i hit them at an angle and they eventually unscrewed out. Others i completely destroyed the head, that worked well.

Now im a happy owner of an 03 Acura Tl with not screws in my rotors :cheer:
